i would trade those 20 twinkies for a few sticks and a roll of some good tape. what needs to go is the rangers scouting dept. how do you draft 5' 6 inch guys every year for the last 30 years? from pavelich/mclanahan to dawes/callahan. when was the last time the rangers drafted a power winger who could score 30/40 a year consistently and play physical. i think every friggin team in the NHL had a power winger or two at one time. and talk about soft as vanilla ice cream, these cream puffs should wear garter belts out there. i know there young but i'm getting tired of hearing how good dubinsky, callahan and staal are. dubinsky does everything but finish - he'll probably be a 10-15 goal career scorer as well as callahan. these guys just can't finish and every time i turn my head staal's on the ice when the other team scores. get rid of redden, mara, rosival, kalinin. even girardi is starting to show why no one drafted him. i'll take leetch sitting on the couch right now with a beer belly to run this power play. gawd they all suck.......snooze....yawn....snore.....

There were SO many reasons Renney needed to be fired. 1. He never kept a line together for a single game=2 0other than the 4th line. There were many games where he tried 15 DIFFERENT LINE COMBINATIONS IN THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF THE 3RD PERIOD. He wondered why there was no chemistry. Tons of too many men on the ice penalties. They had 2 games where they had 2 too many men on the ice penalties because nobody knew who the hell they were playing with. 2. NEVER held a single player accountable. Drury , Gomez, Reddon, just to name a few, were not willing to skate, take a hit, give a hit, make a crisp pass or shoot, yet they got tons of ice time. 3. He convinced himself and the rest of the team that they were a low-scoring team. So they got Drury Gomez and Naslund to be a low scoring team. That makes a lot of sense. 4. He refused to make changes even though his system was not working. 5. Powerless Play - 14 shorthanded goals against. Never shot and NEVER got anyone in front of the net. 6. Never showed any fire and seemed to always be satisfied as long as they outshot the opposition even though all their shots were from the outside. I can give you 10 more reasons but I won't. Don't get me wrong, Renney did get them into the playoffs the last 3 seasons after missing 7 straight, but they were not going to make it this year with him behind the bench and that is completely unacceptable. 0D Yes, Sather needs to go for many reasons, especially the Reddon deal, but now I think he finally realizes that his ass may be on the line. If he didn't realize that he would have never hired Tortorella who is the furthest thing from the "Yes Men" that Sather has always surrounds himself with. I think the hiring of John Tortorella is the best thing that could have happened. Do they really have no talent?... ....Gomez, Drury, Naslund, Zherdev, Dubinsky, Callahan Give me a break. There are coaches out there that would kill to coach these guys. Yes, the defense is lacking but that will be fixed with Sanguinetti and Potter. I'm sure Kalinin will be one of the first to be a victim of Tort's wrath. Rangers will make the playoffs. I'm not expecting them to win the conference or anything crazy like that, but Tortorella is going to get this team in the right direction. -Pantino > Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2009 15:29:29 -0500 > Subject: [BKHockey] Re: pantino, what took them so long? > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > > > I agree 100% > > ~alex > > > On 2/23/09 1:56 PM, "Alex Veselov" <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > They fired the wrong man!
