ESCONDIDO: Checkpoint set for Friday
ESCONDIDO ---- Police cited 23 drivers and impounded 16 vehicles
Wednesday in the first of two checkpoints scheduled this week, an Escondido
police lieutenant said.
Wednesday's enforcement was held at the intersection of Ninth Avenue
and Tulip Street between noon and 2:30 p.m., Lt. James Stuard said. Of
948 vehicles that passed through, 796 were stopped and 36 were sent for a
secondary inspection after drivers were unable to provide proof of a
license.
