Dear Friend,
I just spent last weekend on the campaign trail with Kay and while I knew she
was a fantastic candidate before I came to North Carolina, I can now say with
Kay, you will have one fantastic U.S. senator.
I'm supporting Kay because she will protect our promises to our military and
veterans in the U.S. Senate. It is not just because she comes from a strong
military family -- she has a deep respect for the men and women who serve our
country and fight for the freedom we often take for granted.
But don't take my word for it -- take a look at this video to see for yourself.

At this point in an election, candidates often get embroiled in mudslinging and
dodging the issues. Not Kay. While her opponent airs false negative ads against
her, Kay is continuing to campaign across the state, listening to folks'
concerns and discussing why we need a U.S. senator who will speak out for our
veterans who are coming back from war and now have to fight for the care they
need and deserve at home.
I hope you'll take a moment to watch this video to hear what Kay will do as
your next U.S. Senator.
We are less than fifty days away from one of the most important election days
in our lives. Kay's opponent will continue to call names, throw mud and lie if
she thinks it will help her keep her seat. Now I know a thing or two about
Republican attacks. Some outrageous claims were made about me -- maybe they
think I was wounded when I went hunting with Dick Cheney, but you and I know it
happened while serving my country during the Viet Nam war.
Yet despite my sacrifice and years of service to veterans and to the people of
Georgia, the Republicans attacked my patriotism, aired atrocious television
commercials and set a new low for American politics.
Please don't let this happen again. Kay will give North Carolina's veterans and
working families the representation they deserve. So in addition to watching
the video clip, I encourage you to tell a friend about Kay, volunteer at one of
her offices, donate to the campaign and vote.
