Everything Democrats fight for comes down to these last 42 days.
Universal health care, energy independence ending the war in Iraq - it all
hangs in the balance.
All that stands in the way is John McCain and a group of Republican senators
who have blocked more legislation than any Congress in U.S. history.
You and I and every other committed Democrat must be dedicated to electing
Barack Obama and defeating Republicans wherever we find them.
Forty-two days remain and from Alaska to Mississippi, Democratic Senate
candidates are positioned to unseat at least eleven Republicans.

goal of the cycle and to maintain a fighting chance to win the nine seats
necessary for a filibuster-proof majority.

I cannot stress enough how urgent your help is. Here's why:
McCain/Palin are radically out of touch with the American people but they have
fired up the Republican base in a big way. Republicans may have been
demoralized during the primaries, but those days are over. They will be
turning out in full force to support Republicans up and down the ticket.
They want this thing every bit as bad as we do, and as you can see from the
rapid fire GOP attacks on your TV every night they will stop at nothing to win.
I for one will not be outworked or outhustled by the Republicans. And neither
will the DSCC.
They're flooding battleground states with staff and volunteers and they're
helping drive our message of change. Most importantly, DSCC Chairman Sen.
Chuck Schumer has instituted a rule that every single GOP attack must be
answered unequivocally within 24 hours.
I'm telling you, we're taking it to the Republicans, but we are out of time.
We need thousands of contributions to get us to $4.4 million in a few days
otherwise Democratic Senate candidates will get short shrift and we will lose
races we could have and should have won.
