Hello Michael,
Today, I'm going to ask you to do something simple, but so important. Get at
least one person registered to vote. If it's you, register now. If you're
already registered, get someone you know to register.
One of the biggest enemies of getting real change and making a real difference
in our politics is apathy. When more people take a stake in our politics and
our democracy, we can break the power of the right-wing insiders who work for
the rich and not for the rest of us. The lobbyists and their power brokers lose
out when the American people rise up.
And the most important thing we can do is vote, and get others to vote. Now,
you are probably already registered, but maybe you have recently moved and need
to re-register. Or maybe someone in your family needs to register. Well, Barack
Obama's campaign and the Democratic National Committee have set up a great
website where you can register to vote.
It's incredibly easy, it takes just a couple of minutes, and it works. So take
a minute, check out the website, and if you need to, register.

And, most importantly, get at least one other person to register. Forward this
email to as many people as you can and ask them to register someone to vote. If
we can get a tidal wave of new people to the polls, we can wash out the apathy
and the cynicism and get a new start in this country, get a politics that works
for normal people and not just the well-off and the well-connected.

can overwhelm the politics of the past and get a new start.
