Young Dems,
Yesterday afternoon we passed our goal of 5,000 registrations for the semester!
This is a great achievement, and we want to thank everyone who helped us reach
this ambitious goal. Our new goal is 5,500 before tomorrow's deadline, and
we're sitting at 5,350 right now!
So, if you have ANY voter registration forms with you, if you have unregistered
friends, or if you still have not (re-)registered, YOU HAVE UNTIL 2:30PM
TOMORROW. It is illegal to withhold any voter registration forms, so please
give them to us for submission tomorrow.
- Want to meet a US Congressman? We will be joined tomorrow by Tennessee
Congressman Jim Cooper (D-5). He will be coming to our office in Union 3512 to
speak briefly about the election before joining us in the Pit to help register
voters.
- YD General Body Meeting (Mon 10/13, Murphey 116 @ 8pm): Join us for our
weekly meeting as we lay out our ambitious get-out-the-vote plan for campus!
This is it - we need all hands on deck!
- US Congressional Debate: Rep. David Price vs. BJ Lawson (Tues 10/14, Carroll
111 @ 7pm): Our local US Congressman David Price (D-4) will be debating
challenger BJ Lawson on campus next Tuesday at 7pm in Carroll Hall! Come out
and support Rep. Price, a strong progressive voice who has represented the
Triangle well for many years. Let's make sure we show the Congressman the
support for progressive Democratic candidates at UNC!
