Dear MICHAEL,
I have never forgotten Saxby Chambliss' revolting and repulsive hit piece
equating Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein to triple-amputee war hero Max
Cleland in 2002.
This year, we have a real chance to make Chambliss feel the sting of defeat,
but only if thousands of us act in the next 12 hours. The latest polls show
Democrat Jim Martin within two points, so the DSCC is adding a 12th
battleground state and making a major new investment to win Georgia. This is a
brand-new, enormous opportunity and it brings us one step closer to that
filibuster-proof majority.
We are stretching every last dollar to cover this race at the very last minute.
Martin will need all of our help if he's going to knock off an entrenched
Republican incumbent in the Deep South.

The Democratic wave sweeping the nation is even reaching red states like
Georgia. Voters are clamoring for change after gas shortages in Atlanta and
eight years of disastrous Republican economic policies that led to skyrocketing
job losses.
Polls show Jim Martin making a powerful move to within two points. In fact,
the real margin may be even tighter because half a million ballots have already
been cast through early voting. That's more than during the entire early
voting period in 2004, and a disproportionate share are from Democratic voters
who are energized and ready for change.
We cannot forget that Chambliss has a sordid history of ugly, nasty personal
attacks. This week, he trotted out another round of black and white photos
with the same old scary music to slime Jim Martin. The DSCC needs your help to
fight back.
The Republicans are terrified of losing Georgia and being on the wrong end of
our filibuster-proof majority. In fact, the RNC - an organization that only
plays in Senate races when things are really bad for the other side - is
reportedly securing a $5 million line of credit to hammer our Senate candidates
with negative ads in the final weeks.

fight this sleaze so Democrats like Jim Martin can win races. We only have
