Since the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States I
have noticed a major push by the mainstream media and others in elite
governing and corporate circles to elevate the most hateful, and in
the case of the post, outright racist elements of the Republican
opposition. No longer does the media promote so-called "Mavericks"
like John McCain, or populists like Mike Huckabee, who by the way
finished second only to John McCain and theoretically can also claim
some leadership position within the Republican Party. But, this is not
to be, instead a week after the election Rush Limbaugh made his
message clear, he wants Obama to fail. During the election Limbaugh
incited racial hatred by playing a song he created called "Barack the
Magic Negro." In this song Limbaugh mocked white liberals for liking
Obama and/or thinking he is an acceptable black man, unlike other
black men. Also the tone of the song was racist and anyone listening
with any historical perpective would be able to figure that out. Soon
after the election Limbaugh proceeded to incite more racism by saying
things like "Obama expects "us" to grease our elbows and bend over for
him because he's black." Obviously most of Limbaugh's listeners are
white so when he says "us" he means white vs. Black.

Before the election Limbaugh was never treated as a serious political
force, he was recognized as some sort of political entertainment on
the far right. But then the unthinkable happened, after the media
reported Limbaugh's comments Obama actually replied to it and told the
house republicans that they can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and
think everything is fine, this he said regarding the stimulus package
which Limbaugh and most conservatives have opposed since it was
proposed. For the next few days after Obama mentioned Limbaugh's name,
the mainstream media elevated Limbaugh to the leadership position of
the Republican Party. Some news programs including Geraldo Rivera's
headlined with "Obama vs. Limbaugh." As if Limbaugh was now a
mainstream political opponent of Barack Obama.

At first I was still taking this lightly, but then I got to thinking
about it, the media has been putting forward Republicans like Mike
Pence and other extreme conservatives and Limbaugh fans forward to
criticize the stimulus package. Then when the media asked these
republicans about Rush Limbaugh's comments regarding him wanting Obama
to fail, the house Republicans did not distance them selves from
Limbaugh but instead embraced his ideas and distanced themselves
further from Obama and mainstream public opinion. Basically, at this
point in time the media has turned the Republican Party into a fringe
fascist organization. Moderate Republicans like McCain or national
leaders like Huckabee, once prominent are now cowering in fear and
have been relegated to the sidelines. After all of these events took
place and the media felt that the public was ready to accept a new
version of the mainstream opposition party, the NY Post came out with
an overt racist cartoon which openly portrays Obama as a chimpanzee
getting shot nonetheless. Not only was the cartoon racist, it was Klan
racist, in fact even your average everyday white racist is offended by
the cartoon, only a Klansman can claim that this cartoon is
acceptable. I happened to tune in to the Russian radio stations the
day after the cartoon was published and more recently and even on
there the public was shocked. Typically Europeans and other whites can
be described as Attorney General Eric Holder did as racial cowards.
This would mean that they don't like to hang around blacks much or
breed with them sometimes might have some hidden racial humor in the
home...etc. This can be described as your everyday status quo racism,
which by the way I personally despise and find unacceptable. But
apparently for the Republican Party and the Post, status quo racism or
what Holder refers to as racial cowardice is no longer enough. The
Republicans feel that it is in their interests to incite racism so
that by the next election they can create as wide a gap as possible
between whites and blacks. A race riot would be ideal for Republicans
as they would use such an event to get race based votes. So the
strategy appears to be to incite racial rioting in these hard economic
times when people are looking for a scapegoat.

The media could never have been able to portray this Post cartoon as
not being racist or give the racist point of view equal weight to the
point of view of African Americans, if they had not been successful at
moving the Republican Party leadership from the moderate McCain to the
Rush Limbaugh Republicans. Of course the moderate Republicans had to
allow for this to take place by being silent and so they are now
culpable as well. Since the Republicans are a mainstream political
party and the media tested whether the public was ready to accept Rush
Limbaugh as the leader of this mainstream political party, they then
felt it was safe for the post to publish an overtly racist cartoon, so
during this Obama Presidency we went from Obama's opposition being the
moderate John McCain, to Rush Limbaugh a racial agitator, and now to
an overtly racist opposition embraced by Republicans by them not
denouncing the Post and it's portrayal of assassination or killing of
an ape which they portray as Obama.

If we allow this process to keep going further, the next step will be
the open incitement of racial rioting. The police can easily do this
by sending in someone to one of the demos held by the national action
network and have them stage an attack against a cop which would spark
riots against the police, and then the media can make all blacks out
to be the culprits. There is a way out of it but the approach will be
awkward, pacifist and unorthodox. Firstly, Obama should never have
given Limbaugh any recognition, but since that is already done there
is no reversing it. So far Obama has been smart not to respond to any
of the further escalations of racial tensions, Holder made his
comments just before the cartoon came out. What makes our jobs easier
is Limbaugh himself. He is a very flawed person and since he is now
the symbolic or "fake" leader of the Republican Party it will be easy
to attack them but we should do this in a mocking way by also using a
fake leader and not President Obama.

This is my idea, it may sound silly but it worked during the campaign.
McCain's first real attack ad against Obama portrayed Obama as just a
celebrity comparable to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears and therefore
not qualified to be a real leader. After that commercial Paris Hilton
came out with her own ad against McCain. After that ad which was very
popular she came out with several others promoting herself as the next
fake president...etc. What was interesting was that her reply ad
against McCain actually caused McCain to backtrack because the debate
became "McCain vs. Paris Hilton." Kind of like how now the debate is
"Obama vs. Rush Limbaugh." During the campaign Paris Hilton was able
to make McCain into a joke, in fact in her commercial she called him a
wrinkly old white hair dude, implying that he is out of touch with
technology, modern life...etc. The sad thing is that the Republicans
learned from the experience and now the media has used this trick
against Obama, by putting the news headline a few weeks ago "Obama vs.
Limbaugh" they made Obama into a joke and since these last few weeks
his approval ratings dropped 10 percentage points according to most
media outlets. The good news is that Paris Hilton made a political
commercial with Martin Sheen which can be seen at
http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/06ae3d8563/paris-hilton-gets-presidential-with-martin-sheen-from-paris-hilton
where she is willing to take the role of the next fake president so as
to continue her activism. We can use her to protest Rush Limbaugh, I
made a sign and have been going to Madison Sq Garden with it, it has a
picture of Limbaugh and under it says "the face of hate speech Rush
Limbaugh will Obama take the hate out of the debate? Will Obama give
us the "change" we can believe in or will he step aside and allow
Limbaugh's message of hate to prevail." On the opposite side I have
the fake Paris Hilton as president edition of harpers bazaar magazine
blown up into a poster. I was photographed with that at the veteran’s
parade http://flickr.com/photos/paolomastrangelo/3024387300/ I am
confident that if Paris hears of my idea she would be very willing and
glad to help out, she likes to make fun of herself, so it's really a
matter of getting it to her attention at this point. The media is
smart though they made Limbaugh into a national leader but now they
purposefully don't mention him often because they know he is
vulnerable and can easily be attacked which is where Paris Hilton can
come in and discredit the Republicans for accepting Limbaugh and his
ideas as mainstream.
