*In keeping with the Schomburg Center’s long-standing commitment to help
ensure the preservation of New York City’s African Burial Ground, we are
pleased to share the attached newsletter to bring you up to date on all that
is going on with the National Monument site. We know you join us in looking
forward to the opening of the new visitor center early next year. But I
also encourage you to respond with your comments as the National Park
Service moves forward with developing a long-range General Management Plan
for the operation of the African Burial Ground National Monument. Your
ideas and your voice are important as we work to maintain this tribute site
to our enslaved African ancestors with the utmost integrity and dedication.

Open Houses for an informal opportunity to meet our planning team, get more
information about the African Burial Ground and to share your ideas and
