I get it at a chemical supply house.  Permethrin is the chemical used to 
spray around baseboards for roaches etc when the bug guys come every month 
to an office, home, etc....

Yes Permetherin is deadly to cats.  Also is Ivomec...  I use 2 cc Ivomec 
with a tablespoon of mineral oil in the cats ears to get rid of mites etc.. 
Just enough that I know it gets in the ear and not enough for them to 
lick....
