Could the sores you are talking about be ecthyma,more commonly known as sore mouth or orf.If so you have a couple of options.The first being let it run its course.It usually takes somewhere between 1 and 4 weeks.The good news is that once they have had it, they seem to become almost immune to it.The bad news is it is very contagious.Watch the ewe that is nursing them because she may develop the bacteria on her bag which can lead to mastitis.Your second option is to treat it using just about any medications for bacteria based organisms.I personally use blue lotion spray.If you don't think it is ecthyma , check out the Merck online veterinary manual. You can find just about anything you will need to know there to help you diagnose what your lamb has.Ecthyma in severe cases actually causes the animal to almost entirely quit eating which in turn causes the animal to deteriate.Best of luck.
