Thank you James;
Glad to here your in the Christmas spirit. I was wondering about the
Safeguard block, but couldn't find any one to say it was alright for
sheep. All of the feed stores here said it was for cattle only.
I guess I've been looking for an easy answer on worming animals that
would rather not be touched. I've never had animals that haven't tamed
down, but that's probable a good thing where I live due to the cougars
and coyotes. The sheep and llama are on alert at all times. We haven't
had any kills this year but our neighbor has.
With the horses I worm twice a year once after the first freeze and then
again in the spring. The goats love to eat the horse wormer paste so
didn't have a problem with them. I can't follow behind each sheep to
collect samples to take to the vet for fecal. So I thought the best thing
to do was a block. I don't know for a fact they have worms I just think
it would be best to put them on a plan and make sure I don't loose any to
worms. Maybe I'm going about this all wrong.
I'll study the web site you gave me and see what I can see.
Thanks again,
Sandy
