I also come from a horse and cattle farm. Banding is castrating, we use
to band our calves if we were able to get them off the hills and into the
shoots at a young age. If we missed one do to late birth we had to
castrate with a knife, now that's painful and if not done at the proper
time of year you risk infection. Banding if done properly and at a young
age is painless, clean and easy.  You just slip a band over both
testicles release and your done, in a matter of months the testicle drop
off and your all done. You've made an it.
