The infection is most time between the hoofs( as air has little access), but
it depends on breed and feed.
I only can write about my own BB, they have very good hoofs,never need any
trimming.
But zinc and copper level has to be correct otherwise infections on the
hoofs are coming up.

Moisture is not a problem if sheep are well balanced and not overfed.
If you feed grain on moist ground ,automatically a few sheep do have pain
and some get infections in feet/hooves.
