If you are setting your background with a program external to blackbox, blackbox does not know about that background. For example, if you see a cool graphic and download it and run qiv -root CoolPic.png Your background will not be present when you restart. To make that happen you will need to do one of two things. Make a custom style (see the man page, blackbox) or edit the current style you are using to load the graphic you want. Look for the line that begins with the word "rootCommand" and set this to be something like bsetbg -full CoolPic.png Remember to include the path to the file. --Brig ===== -- "R.
