Do you have something like this in the menu file? (~/.blackbox/menu):
[submenu] (Styles or whatever)
[stylesdir] /home/yourusername/.blackbox/styles
[end]
If you do, you'll be able to select styles from the menu. It's the
only way to do it. The root command is used for setting up a
background image, usually.
