  Here's my blackbox 'icon' solution:

  'Shaded' windows are already supported; why not support a
   right-click combo on the shaded titlebar which causes it
   to shrink (to the left) into a square of titlebar height
   and present (ugh) flyover text for the title?
   Instant icons.
