I used to see this problem when i was using older beta 065
versions of blackbox.

Basically, what i grok of it is that when a 'transient'
window is very short lived, it is not properly destroyed,
and hangs out as a "transparent" window... something to do
with timers in blackbox, i think.

I have not seen evil transparent ROX windows after upgrading
to debian from mandrake (and also from ROX 1.2 to 1.3)

if it's possible, try upgrading your ROX 1.2 to ROX v1.3,
and making sure you have the most recent (stable) BB code.

What distro are you using? Redhat or Mandrake?

sorry, was using rox-filer 1.2.2 w/ rox-base 1.0.2

as of yesterday, i moved over to 1.3.5 to see if it fixes the problem. however, 1.3.5 seems to be more gtk dependant. I know that its built
using gtk, but this version wont allow keybinding w/out having ~/.gtkrc
file that states key bindings may be changed. I know that it's not that
big of a deal because i do use gtk ( gimp ) so it's not like i had to
add it just for this, and i know that this is still a developer version
which probably explains the slower feel.
anyhow, i will let u know if i still have blank window problem.

// start snipit

What version of ROX?

I updgraded to 1.2.2 (didn't help), but haven't tried the
1.3.x series yet.
