The disconnection date is almost here. For most of the DirecTV DSL customers, SBC (formerly Ameritech) is picking up their service accounts. However, there's a key difference between DirecTV's accounts and SBC's. DirecTV allowed the running of services, SBC does not. SBC will allow services with a "business" class line that would entail a rather stiff installation fee and moderate monthly fee. Unfortunately broadband connections that allow services in the Chicago area are either non-existent or "business" class. I'm still looking for a good solution to the problem and will do everything in my power to limit the impact to the list and those subscribed. -- Jamin W.
