Hi all,

Lately, I've been getting problem reports regarding bbweather. It seems
that under some circumstances, users observe the following error:

 Error of failed request: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource
denied)
  Major opcode of failed request: 88 (X_FreeColors)
  Serial number of failed request: 21
  Current serial number in output stream: 22

It seems a similar problem observed in xsreensaver[1]. So far, I've not
been able to reproduce it, but it apparently, as a workaround, you can
move the weather data file into a different location, say /var/tmp/:

        $ mv ~/.wmWeatherReports/FOOO.txt /var/tmp
        $ bbweather -d /var/tmp FOOO

This has been reported to happen with $HOME being NFS mounted and on a
normal file system (and I run it on both NFS and normal, without
experiencing the problem).

Furthermore, this seems to only happen with XFree86 4.3.0, but, try as I
might, I can not reproduce it under NetBSD (even with XF 4.3.0), even
though it happens on various Linuxen. If anybody here on this list has
an idea of what it might be, I'd appreciate the help. You can download
a test-version at http://www.netmeister.org/tmp/bbweather-0.6.1.tar.gz.

Thanks in advance,
-Jan

What do you mean, why has it got to be built? It's a
bypass. Got to build bypasses.
