bsetbg, an executable that was installed when you installed blackbox,
will set the background using the method of your choice (xsetroot,
Esetroot, display, and xv are all common choices). See 'man bsetbg' for
information on using it either fully with a command line or in
cooperation with a runcontrol file (~/.bsetbg). You can then either have
your style file call it, or have it called in your .xinitrc/.xsession.
Those writing styles *should* be using bsetbg for setting the root
window image.
