Mozilla and its spawn are unbelievably slow, and all other browsers
that I've tried are incompetent.
Use sylpheed (Gtk) or Evolution (Gnomic) for your mail client.
Evolution seemed to me to start impossibly slowly.
Opera (6.11) is decent and fast for most broowsing purposes, 7.11 actually
is 'snake eyes' and may be creepier than Slozilla.
what does 'snake eyes' mean?
2) If you are using kwrite for documents to be printed, switch to OpenOffice.
It's slower, but much more powerful.
but I just need a fast nice looking (non console) text editor, one that
loads almost instantly ...
If you are using kwrite for programming(?) use any real programming
editor.
3) Try ROX for file manglement.
I can only find a destop, not a file manager by that name
