ah, but we have to follow the specs.  When you ask for a window to be 
undecoroted the same sequence of code runs as when Blackbox exits and the 
window is unmanaged.  According to the ICCCM when this happens we have to put 
the window back where it belongs.  This is why you perceive a shift.

*Maybe* we could detect this case and act differently, maybe not.  Would have 
to look at it.  Part of the problem here is this feature is never used by 
Brad or me.  Features we do not use or test drift over time.

Both of us are always open to patches to these types of problems.  However, we 
rarely accept patches first time through so expect some review.  Often the 
"obvious" fix has non-obvious consequences.
