I have both pkg-config:
chris-lap blackbox>$ which pkg-config
/usr/bin/pkg-config

and "pkg.m4":
/usr/share/aclocal/pkg.m4


I agree that the error you show is the same as what happens
if I'm missing pkg.m4.  Are you implying that I'm somehow
not seeing it?  How do I instruct configure to find this
file?
