Both wms have their own internal dialog box mechanism -- blackbox does not 
currently.  bbrun will approximate this functionality, as will several others 
programs -- I have definitely seen a GTK+ variant which I believe inspired 
bbrun.

Please post the errors from your build of bbrun and we should be able to get 
you going.
