Category: Behaviour Group: 0.65.x >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Submitted By: Stijn Hoop (fritti) >Assigned to: Bradley T. Hughes (bradleyhughes) Summary: focus-flickering on 0.65.0pre1 Initial Comment: I (and Adriano Varoli Piazza <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) have been experiencing strange focus behaviour with 0.65.0pre1: blackbox appears to go into a loop changing the focus from one window to another and back again, very very quickly. This results in apparent screen 'flicker'. I noticed this on FreeBSD-4.6-STABLE using a ports-compiled mozilla 1.1. Adriano used Sylpheed & Opera. My relevant config file settings: session.screen0.focusModel: AutoRaiseSloppyFocus session.screen0.windowPlacement: RowSmartPlacement session.screen0.focusNewWindows: False session.screen0.focusLastWindow: True session.autoRaiseDelay: 250 --Stijn ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Bradley T. Hughes (bradleyhughes) Date: 2004-10-01 14:35 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=459209 it looks like this was fixed long long ago in CVS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christian Biere (cbiere) Date: 2003-06-21 17:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=643728 I can reproduce the focus problem by doing the following: - start two xterms - let the xterms overlap - kill the window manager - move the mouse pointer to the overlapping part of the xterms - start blackbox This makes blackbox endlessly switching the focus between both xterms. If this were the only case, this wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, it's not but this is the only case I can reproduce reliably. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: rumpole (rumpole7) Date: 2002-12-25 14:23 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=674554 Problem persists. Fairly regularly now but still intermittant. I would be willing to run a debug version of blackbox that logs errors to a file which I could then send to help you debug this issue. Please outline the steps necessary that I would have to do to perform this action. Note however, that this does not happen all the time. But it does happen. About 4 times so far this past week. .blackboxrc session.screen0.slit.placement: TopRight session.screen0.slit.direction: Vertical session.screen0.slit.onTop: False session.screen0.slit.autoHide: False session.screen0.toolbar.onTop: False session.screen0.toolbar.placement: BottomCenter session.screen0.toolbar.widthPercent: 66 session.screen0.toolbar.autoHide: True session.screen0.colPlacementDirection: TopToBottom session.screen0.focusNewWindows: False session.screen0.slitPlacement: CenterRight session.screen0.disableBindingsWithScrollLock: False session.screen0.focusModel: SloppyFocus AutoRaise session.screen0.fullMaximization: False session.screen0.toolbarWidthPercent: 66 session.screen0.strftimeFormat: %I:%M %p , %d %b session.screen0.edgeSnapThreshold: 0 session.screen0.windowPlacement: CascadePlacement session.screen0.workspaces: 4 session.screen0.workspaceNames: Workspace 1,Workspace 2,Workspace 3,Workspace 4 session.screen0.toolbarOnTop: False session.screen0.rowPlacementDirection: LeftToRight session.screen0.focusLastWindow: False session.opaqueMove: False session.doubleClickInterval: 250 session.imageDither: True session.cacheMax: 200 session.windowCycleModifier: Mod1 session.autoRaiseDelay: 500 session.colorsPerChannel: 4 session.workspaceChangeModifier: Control session.colormapFocusModel: Click session.cacheLife: 5 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: rumpole (rumpole7) Date: 2002-12-23 22:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=674554 I have seen this several times already with the 0.65 final version. Unfortunately I am unable to repeat this problem and it seems to be an intermittant issue. I am using 0.65 final, sloppy focus and autoraise. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: rumpole (rumpole7) Date: 2002-12-23 20:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=674554 I have seen this several times already with the 0.65 final version. Anyway, I think the best thing to make it happen is to open some small window, like an aterm or kppp (just suggestions), on top of a big one like a mozilla window; but doing it with a keybinding, and with the mouse outside the spaceof the new window. To make it clear: -Have a mozilla (or openoffice, evolution, sylpheed, whatever) window open. -open up an aterm with a keypress (ALT 6, whatever) but having your mouse NOT over the appearing window, but somewhere else. Settings should be autoraise, sloppyfocus (my autoraise delay is 600 ms, I believe. I'm not in front of my own computer, nor will I be for the next month. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2002-12-23 17:14 Message: Logged In: NO I have seen the same thing also with 0.65 stable. Sloppy focus and auto raise enabled. Unfortunately it is not consistant and repeatable. :-( If I am able to find a consistant method to repeat it I will report it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2002-10-04 06:11 Message: Logged In: NO I've seen this too since I migrated from 0.62.1 to 0.65.0 final. I've tried to reproduce it but I had no success. I use AutoRaise and SloppyFocus, too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sean 'Shaleh' Perry (shaleh) Date: 2002-09-05 22:02 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=37132 ok, now please explain exactly the steps one should follow to see this flickering with mozilla. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=428680&aid=605233&group_id=40696 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] List archives: http://asgardsrealm.net/lurker/splash/index.html Trouble?
