I think Brad will say that XMMS is a pet peeve for many window manager developers... :)
Aye, so I've heard time and again. However, I did some more research with this and it seems to be a problem with transient windows in general. For example, most applications that use transient windows have a similar problem I've noticed.
For example, open mozilla (or probably any program that lets uses a transient window) and then use the File->Open File command to get the open file dialog to come up. Then put focus back on the main mozilla window and right-click the title bar and send it to a different workspace. The window moves there, but the topen dialog on the current workspace. If you then switch workspaces to the one you switched the window too, you'll notice the open dialog is also on that workspace. Keep switching forward workspaces and sometimes the open dialog will appear on them too.
Before transient windows had their own entries in the window menu which allowed you to switch them using the middle-click method, but now they don't appear in the window list at all so it's not possible to move it around. Once it's there, it has to be closed and re-opened to mvoe it to another workspace.
> As long as you actively maintain the patch so as people can apply it
cleanly, my guess is that people who need it will use it.
Yea, I plan on doing that. I'll use it, even if no one else does.
