I can confirm that it's fixed - now that cvs has updated :-)

However :-( ...I'm now seeing _xine_ exit abruptly if I go though that cycle a
few times (full-screen on and off with a cd playing). Is that more likely
to be provoking an xine bug - I can't see a core dump - or has the wm
somehow told xine to close?

I'm also seeing a blackbox crash when starting terragen
(http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/) running this under wine.
This ran ok until I did the recent update (to beta3 and then a newer cvs)
but I'm not sure when the bug was introduced

assertion:

blackbox: WindowGroup.cc:51: void
BWindowGroup::removeWindow(BlackboxWindow*): Assertion
`transientList.empty()' failed

I get a traceback of

....
