Sounds not like a blackbox thing, but netscape. It is not uncommon (for
me at least), to have netscape go ape shit for some gawd awful reason and
try to take the box down with it. I have had it crash (the system) with
netscape soooo many times I'm very quick to kill netscape if it even HINTS
at going ....
BTW, the core dumping and programs dying off, are the result of your
running out of memmory -- again, a side effect compliments of
Netscape. And fwiw, running any large java applet, or opening and closing
windows as you view, will eventually over time kill it (memory leak?) ...
