I have noticed similar problems. In addition to the tx, rx, and switching
lights not working, the time display never changes from 00:00. Furthermore,
it won't read the configFile as defined in my .blackboxrc. I have to use the
-c option to keep it from using its defaults. I can, however, start and
stop the connection by left clicking where the three lights are.

I am running bb 0.60.2 on a redhat 6.2 system. I've been using wmppp without
problems.
