I dunno, but I can't see this as being very useful. What kind of things
get put in the slit? System monitors (a la gkrellm or windowmaker
dockapps), maybe an licq window, bbkeys, bbpager, etc.

For the most part, aren't these all things we should want to be able to
see fairly constantly? If my cpus are starting to overheat, or netscape
has crashed and is using 50% of my cpus, I think I'd like to know about
this. If I've just gotten an icq message, I'd like to be able to see
that it's waiting for me. bbpager is constantly used, so there's no
sense hiding that, so about the only thing that's regularlily sitting
in someone's slit that doesn't need viewing is bbkeys..

I can understand having a hide (or remove, possibly?) feature for the
toolbar though. For many people, it's useless. I know a lot of people
who want the option of getting rid of it entirely...
