Hi,
I've been seeing a problem with some Java applications I use
frequently that seems to be related to window sizing. I'm running
blackbox 0.60.3 on Solaris 8 for SPARC, and the problem manifests itself
in two ways:
1. When a window requests itself to be resized, its location is often
shifted to the northwest (sometimes putting it off the screen) and
sometimes the window ends up smaller than before;
2. Applications with multiple windows that try to position their windows
relative to each other don't seem to count the window title bar as part of
the window size, resulting in overlapping windows.
I see these problems most acutely in Forte for Java, Sun's Java IDE (and
quite a fine product). I run it using JDK 1.3.0beta, and both can be
obtained at http://java.sun.com. The same behavior happens running under
Linux as well.
If anyone can offer suggestions, I'd appreciate it! Blackbox is my very
favorite window manager, and it troubles me to have to use CDE to do my
Java work.
