1) we are now at version 0.60.3.  You are a little out of date (-:

2) blackbox does not have icons in the traditional sense.  The window does
indeed disappear.  To get it back, open the icons menu.  Should be linked to
either button1 or button 2 of your mouse (left or middle click).  If you only
have a two button mouse, try clicking both buttons at the same time.
