-quoted from my post on bb.themes.org forum-

I've been encountering a recurring problem over multiple distributions
and multiple versions of X.

The problem is - any fonts that come with the themes for blackbox won't
work.

I follow the instructions in x.themes.org (or use artwiz's pcfinstall
script) and I can see the fonts using

xfontsel -fn snap
or
xfd -fn snap

But blackbox does not find them. (I'm running the latest from
blackbox.alug.org 0.61)

The line *Font : snap returns me the same font
as *Font: thereisnofontwiththisname

By placing *Font: 6x10 the fonts change...
also
*Font: -*-helvetica-*-r-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
works fine.

This problem has occurred with a Red Hat 6.2 box running whatever
version of XFree86 (3.3.6 I think?) comes standard. It also has occurred
with a Red Hat 6.2 box with a completely new XFree86 4.0.1 install (ie.
rm -rf/usr/X11R6)

I am stumped.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
