I think you may be describing a problem that occured in Blackbox 0.60.3,
where the flat solid textures were not rendered correctly. If you are
running this version or a previous one), you may want to consider
upgrading to 0.61 or one of the recent CVS snapshots that are at Jeff
Raven's Blackbox page (http://www.math.psu.edu/raven/blackbox.html).
