I have a problem running Pronto, an email client, under Blackbox (0.61
and Mandrake 7.0) that doesn't exist under other window managers that I
have tried (Enlightenment, Windowmaker, fvwm1).

When I try to read messages, the first message I select appears in a
message window as expected. However, when I select a second message,
the act of selecting it gives the message list the focus and the
updated message window disappears behind the main window. Presumably
this is caused by having ClickToFocus set (which is the behaviour I
want in other circumstances).

Is there a solution to this? (I.e. one that enables me to have the
behaviour of Pronto in other window managers and still retain my
present Blackbox behaviour in other respects). The people in the
Pronto list suggest it is a problem with Blackbox and have suggested I
use another window manager, but I am not in a position to offer an
opinion.

I am not committed to Pronto, and I like Blackbox. One solution would
be to try another email program that works well with Blackbox, and I
would welcome suggestions. However, any program must be reliable and
must allow messages to be opened in separate windows. I loath tiled
panes and think they are a poor use of screen space.
