Xfree 4.0.2

This is not exactly on topic but I'll ask anyway.

I have just compiled Xfree 4.0.2 from sources. 

However when I run bb all the themes are displayed 
in a "darker" color. This is also true for window
maker but twm does not seem to have this problem.

Has anyone had this problem ?

Is this a problem with Xfree or bb ?
