Same thing happened to me with a new 1.5 install and bbkeys (but not
blackbox -- I don't know why yet).

libSM is available in the NetBSD xbase.tgz.
A workaround I did: 'LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/X11R6/lib/ bbkeys &'
If you have /usr/X11R6/lib then maybe add it to your /etc/ld.so.conf file.
