Star Office actually runs better under BlackBox than it does most Window
Managers on lower end hardware. I think the low overhead might have
something to do with it, given my box isn't exactly new. It should be
usuable with your config - but not fast. Remember, this sucker is almost as
bloated as MS Office, in terms of Linux/*nix applications. I just upgraded
from an almost identical machine (my box had a P233MMX, but 160Mb of RAM),
and I found it tolerable.
My current machine is a dual PPro with 192Mb of RAM, and it actually runs
fairly well. Both boxes were running FreeBSD 4.1, but linux binary
compatibility under FreeBSD isn't that much faster or slower than straight
linux, so you should see similar results.
