In your ~/.xinitrc file or ~/.xsession put the line
bbkeys -i &
That will start up bbkeys iconised ie invisible. When you want to
play with it, adjust setting setc middle click to find the icon
button.
I find it helps to have this line near the beginning and the exec
blackbox line near the end. HTH
