EPID. Blackbox makes no pretensions about being the wm for everybody;
if anything, it strikes me as the wm for people who want the
simplicity of twm with a little more modern look. Not many newbies
want the simplicity of twm. :-)

Does it matter? It's not like it stops working because it's not
getting attention. twm still works fine after all these years, as does
fvwm version 1. But blackbox is first and foremost *simple*, so it's
not *like*, say, Enlightenment, where more and more features get added
every version. If you want to compare it to the development of another
window manager, look at WindowMaker, which is pretty much entirely
feature complete at this point and mostly just sees patches to address
identified bugs. And I can't say I see any indication that development
has slowed -- but expecting to see a new release every month is
probably not the way to go (nor is it something that people *using*
software particularly like...)
Or look at TeX :-)
Troll Tech doesn't develop Blackbox, by the way.
