Almost every rxvt I have seen is not built with the feature. You may have
to configure it and build from source. With rxvt use the "-ip" switch; it
stands for "inherit parent window's pixmap".

/usr/local/bin/rxvt -fg forestgreen -fn 6x13 -ip

rxvt is the same: "+ip" turns it off.

The dash is the commonly-used character for setting command-line
switches/options. So if "-" sets it, then "+" unsets it. It is a little
confusing.
