Show us what you did.

Show us what happens. (Give us part of the output from configure or make.)

configure tries to figure out what is on your system and it builds a
makefile. Makefiles (and make) is very complex; basically (in this
case) the Makefile has instructions to help build the source code to
create the blackbox executables (and help install it and documentation and
styles).
