If you used bash's "ulimit -c unlimited" (or similar) in an xterm, it will
set the resources for process started by that shell. Then if you open
another xterm, it may have different resource limits. Make sure it is set
at login time via your operating system's user or login classes.

I am not sure, but maybe you can set it in the .xinitrc script before
starting blackbox.
