Why not simply have bbkeys or some other application register an event
message with BB that fires off the popping and navigating of the menu(s)?
It would seem that this would be a much more modular approach as it would
not limit the navigation or initiation to just mouse or keyboard.  Anything
that could send the proper event triggers to BB would work.
