Have you played around with the different window focus
configurations available to you? If there's a [config] line
in your ~/.bbmenu, you can use that menu option to play
around with them until you find a setup that works for you.
It's simpler than editing .blackboxrc by hand, but you can
do that too (see the RESOURCE FILE section of the manpage).
Apologies if you've tried those options already.
