Very true, Solaris does require quite a bit of 'aftermarket' software to be
installed.  Right now, you're simply missing a few required programs;
autoconf and automake packages for Solaris can be found at sunfreeware.com
(install them with a pkgadd -d <pkgname>, and the rest should also not be
very hard to find.  Install them and try again.
