I am looking for suggestions for having graphical icons on the blackbox
desktop.
My 5-year-old son, who has been using computers to play games
and dabble in The Gimp for a few years now, is using his computer more
and more. Almost everyday he uses xpaint and pbskids.org (can do simple
painting there).
The menu is okay to use, but I think it would be easier for him to have
some graphical icons to click on. (And definitely easier for my
three-year-old.)
My blackbox faq mentions: "kfm (KDE filemanager), gmc (GNOME filemanager),
xfm (X filemanager)".[1]
What are some real lightweight graphical icon solutions that work well
with blackbox?
I don't use the slit, is there any bbapp to place small graphical icons in
the slit?
Thanks,
Jeremy C. Reed
p.s. off-topic for this list, but feel free to reply off-list:
- does anyone know of any mailing lists/forums for discussing various
audio and video applications and coding (open source for BSD/Linux)?
- any suggestions for good educational games and programs for young kids?
- anyone in the Snohomish county area that wants to start a users
group focusing on BSD, Linux, and open source?
