time on the toolbar

I am very new to blackbox. I really enjoy it, and I want to start customizing it.
I was looking at some blackbox screenshots and I noticed that on some of these
shots not only is the time displayed on the toolbar, but the date as well. I cannot 
seem to find an option to make this happen on my toolbar. Is there some special 
command that needs to be run to accomplish this?
