As others have posted, there should be a file in your home directory,
either .xinitrc or .xsession, where you can run commands before exec'ing
blackbox.
BTW might be stating the blinding obvious but windowMaker dock apps start
in 'the slit' - checkout the blackbox man page if you have no idea what
I'm taking about :)
